DALLAS — Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams punched in an early touchdown Sunday night — but he did so at the expense of his shoulder, apparently.
But the Cowboys got good news by the second half: Williams returned at the start of the third quarter and reeled off a long run on his first carry.
He had missed most of the first half after getting banged up near the goal line on an early touchdown run against the Vikings on Sunday night at AT&T Stadium. Williams was then listed as questionable to return with a shoulder injury.
Williams scored on a one-yard touchdown up the middle before NBC’s cameras showed him in apparent pain on the sideline. Williams also had a one-yard run the play before, converting a 4th down and 1, a play in which he appeared to bobble the ball near the line of scrimmage.
Williams has been a tremendous addition for the Cowboys this year, racking up more than 1,000 rushing yards and nine touchdowns so far.
