SAN ANTONIO — Egg prices keep going up and one local restaurant in San Antonio just announced they will be adding an egg surcharge to help defray costs.
Jim’s Restaurant said they will be adding a surcharge of 50 cents per egg to all menu items that contain the product.
“The egg industry is experiencing great turmoil due to HPAI, commonly referred to as bird flu,” said a Facebook post from Jim’s Restaurant. “Eggs are becoming harder to come by, and unfortunately, more expensive. Starting today, Jim’s Restaurants will introduce a temporary surcharge: 50 cents per egg.”
“We have done this to address the current issues in the egg market; with hopes of removing the surcharge as soon as the markets permit. We take great pride in serving our guests the best meals possible, at the most competitive prices we can manage. We appreciate your understanding and are eager to serve you soon. As always, we appreciate the business and continued support of our loyal customers.”
