
Former President Biden was diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer after a small nodule was found during a routine physical, his office confirmed.
SAN ANTONIO — Thoughts and prayers are flowing in from all over for Former President Joe Biden following the announcement of his cancer diagnosis on Sunday.
San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Rep. Joaquin Castro are among leaders across the country taking to social media with supportive messages.
“Praying for President Biden and his family as they navigate how best to fight this disease,” said Nirenberg on X. “Joe Biden is a fighter. I know that his grit and support structures will serve him well through this battle.”
“President Biden is a fighter—and this moment is no different,” wrote Castro. “I’m sending prayers to him and his family as he faces this diagnosis but I know he will tackle this challenge with the same tenacity and grace he has shown throughout his career and his life. We stand with you, Mr. President.”
According to a statement from the former president’s personal office, the 82-year-old was diagnosed Friday with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer after a small nodule was found during a routine physical.
President Trump took to Truth Social sending best wishes to the Biden family following the announcement, writing: “Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”
Former Vice President Kamala Harris also posted to social media wishing the former president a speedy recovery.
“I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership,” Harris wrote.
