Joe Jonas surprised Fort Worth fans with a pop-up concert at the Stockyards, promoting his upcoming album.
FORT WORTH, Texas — Hometown hero Joe Jonas held a surprise pop-up concert in the Fort Worth Stockyards Saturday, delighting over 1,000 fans while promoting his new album.
Jonas, who was once a resident of Dallas, returned to the city to be a guest with Sierra Ferrell at the Post Malone concert on Friday night. Then, he hopped over to the Stockyards to perform a pop-up show.
Jonas’ team reached out to Visit Fort Worth, asking to host a pop-up in the Stockyards on Saturday, Alex Catterton, director of content and public relations for Visit Fort Worth, said. The concert was held in Mule Alley in partnership with Tannahill’s Tavern & Music Hall.
He gave fans a heads-up about the show at 9 p.m. the night before the pop-up, sharing the event with his 12.3 million followers. Jonas performed several songs, including “This is Me” from the Disney Channel movie Camp Rock, according to videos posted to social media.
The show was to promote his new solo album “Music For People Who Believe in Love,” which is coming out on May 23. Jonas enjoyed Fort Worth so much, he ended up changing his travel plans to spend more time there, Catterton said. After the show, he headed to Chef Tim Love’s newest restaurant, Stewart’s Croquet & Cocktails, to keep the celebration going.
Over the course of the day, he was given a 40X cowboy hat by American Hat Company, which he later posted to his Instagram.
Jonas will return to Tarrant County with his brothers for a Jonas Brothers concert Aug. 31 at Globe Life Field.
