Joint Base San Antonio implements 100% ID checks at all gates

Joint Base San Antonio has increased security measures, including 100% ID checks at all gates and suspension of the Trusted Traveler program.

SAN ANTONIO — Joint Base San Antonio is tightening security measures across all installations.

Officials announced that 100% ID checks will now be conducted at every JBSA gate due to increased Force Protection Condition, or FPCON, measures.

In addition to full identification checks, the base has suspended its Trusted Traveler program as part of heightened force protection activities. The program previously allowed certain vetted individuals to escort guests onto the installation without additional screening.

Base leadership is also urging all personnel to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to their local Security Forces Squadron.

Officials did not specify how long the increased security posture will remain in effect.

Drivers entering JBSA installations should expect potential delays and plan accordingly.
