A multi-agency drug trafficking investigation led to the arrests of two individuals in Hays and Guadalupe counties
SAN ANTONIO — Two people are behind bars after a months-long, multi-agency investigation into drug trafficking across our area.
The arrests are the result of a partnership between San Marcos police, Seguin police and the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say the operation began more than three months ago by tracking one suspect they already believed was a major meth distributor.
Authorities say Karin Mince, who lives in Seguin, was distributing meth throughout Hays and Guadalupe counties. Back in October, investigators seized about 14 ounces of meth and 7.5 grams of cocaine during the investigation.
That led detectives to a second suspect. Police say Marcos Antonio Hernandez, a friend of Mince, was caught earlier this month delivering a kilogram of meth, roughly 2.2 pounds. He was taken into custody as part of a follow-up investigation.
In total, law enforcement says they seized more meth, including another half-kilo, along with counterfeit pills believed to contain fentanyl and other drugs.
Both suspects were booked into the Hays County Jail. Mince has since been released on bond. Hernandez remains in custody with bond set at $90,000.
