Judson ISD approves 1% pay increase for teachers, librarians, counselors, nurses

SAN ANTONIO – The Judson Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a 1% pay increase for teachers, librarians, counselors and nurses on Tuesday night.

The pay increase will take effect during the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. A $500 one-time incentive payment will be provided to all other staff, to be disbursed in December.

“We are grateful for the unwavering dedication of our teachers, librarians, counselors, nurses, and all support staff,” said Superintendent Dr. Fields. “Their efforts are integral to creating a nurturing and effective learning environment for our students. This increase and incentive pay are small tokens of our immense appreciation for their hard work and commitment.”

A press release said the district the district aims to support and motivate its staff, ensuring they are valued and appreciated for their contributions to the educational success and well-being of its students.

According to the Texas Tribune, as of the 2021-2022 school year, an average teacher’s salary at Judson ISD was just over $56,000 a year, which was about $2,000 less than the state average.
