Julian Champagnie hosts his first basketball camp in San Antonio for young athletes on June 6.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs‘ Julian Champagnie will host his first basketball camp for young athletes in San Antonio.

The Spurs forward’s camp will be at Xtreme Harvest Chruch, 6727 NW Loop 410, 78238, on June 6 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. Grades 1st through the 12th are invited to attend.

Campers will receive a free T-shirt, learn about basketball, a camp photo, a photo with Champagnie, and one item to be signed.

Attending the camp costs $75.00, and registration is open.

MITCH JOHNSON REPORTEDLY INKS A MULTI-YEAR DEAL WITH SPURS

According to a recent report, the Spurs have agreed to a multi-year deal with Mitch Johnson, the new team head coach.

Johnson filled in as interim head coach for the Spurs last season following Gregg Popovich’s medical incident and helped guide the team to 34 wins, 12 more than last season’s 22-win team.

Mitch may not have any NBA head coaching experience, but he comes in with years next to Pop on the coaching bench, spent time as an assistant coach with the Austin Spurs, and was tapped many times to lead the Spurs Summer League squads.

“He took over this year and did a fantastic job,” Pop said of Johnson. “We saw him in action, and he was brilliant. Players respect him.”

Said Pop: “I couldn’t be more thrilled for him and his family and friends.”
