Justice for Oliver; ACS responds to a dog found with gunshot wound

“It’s clear that whoever did this, did not intend for Oliver to survive,” says ACS

SAN ANTONIO — City of San Antonio Animal Care Services took to Facebook on Tuesday to ask the community for help getting justice for a dog they say was rushed to Animal Emergency Room (AER) with a gunshot wound and miraculously survived his injuries.

Animal Care officers responded to a 311 call last week about a dog, now named Oliver, who was spotted injured and disoriented from what was initially believed to be from an attack by another animal.

According to ACS, Oliver’s injuries were later discovered to be not from an animal, but a gun.

The ACS vet team confirmed Oliver had a bullet entry wound near his temple. “It’s clear that whoever did this, did not intend for Oliver to survive,” says ACS.

Now ACS is asking the community for help finding the person who shot Oliver. They are asking anyone with information to make a report by calling 311 or through their website here.

ACS says Oliver is proving to be a survivor, but is not yet out of the woods.

While he’s on the road to recovery, Oliver has a new forever home awaiting him. ACS says he has a confirmed adoption processed.

Oliver didn’t deserve this. Last week, Miss P was driving at night when she skidded to a stop after a disoriented dog…
