NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — The “girl from Golden” is set to perform three nights at Gruene Hall.
Texas native Kacey Musgraves will release her seventh studio album, “Middle of Nowhere,” on Friday, May 1. To support the new record, she’ll play three shows at the iconic music venue Gruene Hall, located in New Braunfels, on May 3, 4 and 5.
Musgraves will be joined by The Mariachi Brothers – Antonio, Caleb and Joshua Gámez-Cuéllar, a trio from the Rio Grande Valley who recently gained attention when they and their parents were detained by ICE. The family was released from custody in early March.
But those shows aren’t the only thing on Musgraves’s schedule in the coming days. She’s also set to sign copies of “Middle of Nowhere” at Waterloo Records in Austin on Sunday, May 3, from 12-2 p.m. According to Waterloo, Musgraves will only sign for 250 limited, priority-admission, wristbanded customers.
Musgraves released her debut album, “Same Trailer Different Park,” in 2013. Her sophomore record, “Pageant Material,” was released in 2015, followed by “A Very Kacey Christmas” in 2016. Musgraves’s fourth album, “Golden Hour,” released in 2018, won “Album of the Year” at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. Her fifth and sixth albums – “Star-Crossed” and “Deeper Well” – were released in 2021 and 2024.
The forthcoming “Middle of Nowhere” appears to be rooted in Musgraves’s background in the Lone Star State, with song titles like “Abilene” and “Coyote” and duets with fellow Texas natives Miranda Lambert and Willie Nelson.
