Kerrville Tivy soccer coach, wife found dead while 2 kids are still missing after catastrophic Texas floods

A high school soccer coach and his wife were found dead after floodwaters hit their vacation site on the Fourth of July. Their two kids are still reportedly missing.

SAN ANTONIO — A high school soccer coach and his wife were found dead after devastating floodwaters rushed through the site they were vacationing at on the Fourth of July.

Tivy soccer coach Reece Zunker, wife Paula and two children were reported missing by family members after catastrophic flooding swept through Kerr County on Friday.

On Saturday, Zunker and his wife were confirmed dead in a post by the Tivy Boys Soccer Facebook page.

“Our Tivy Soccer & KISD community is heartbroken with the loss of our leader and inspiration,” said Tivy Boys Soccer. “The Coach Reece Zunker was not just a soccer coach he was a mentor, teacher and a role model for our Kerrville kids.”

Zunker’s two kids are still reportedly missing, according to the Kerrville Daily Times.

Family members say that Zunker and his family were vacationing at a river house in Hunt, between Camp La Junta and Camp Mystic, where 27 children are still unaccounted for as well.
