Kliff Kingsbury to become new offensive coordinator for Commanders, says a source with the Washington team

Eric Bieniemy is the current offensive coordinator for the Washington team.

WASHINGTON — A source with the Washington Commanders claims that the team is hiring Kliff Kingsbury, 44, as their new offensive coordinator.

Kingsbury is the the team’s first hire since it was announced that Dan Quinn would become head coach. On Saturday, Kingsbury pulled out of consideration for the Las Vegas Raiders’ offensive coordinator job.

He returns to the NFL after spending last season as a quarterbacks coach at USC. Kingsbury coached the Arizona Cardinals from 2019 to 2022, after five seasons in college at Texas Tech. He was let go in January 2023, when he rejoined USC as a senior offensive analyst.

A team source told WUSA9 Adam Peters and Dan Quinn plan to address the media Monday and will likely have staff updates to share.
