Humphries PhotographyIn a heartfelt message to viewers, KSAT 12 anchor Max Massey announced his departure from the San Antonio news station on social media on Monday, February 26. He shared how he will leave TV news and start a new chapter in his professional career. Massey said his last day on air will be on March 10.
Massey is the Good Morning San Antonio weekend anchor and a general assignment reporter during the week. He has been with the news station for nearly seven years, according to his Facebook post. He’s covered some of the biggest national stories out of Texas, such as the shooting at Sutherland Springs First Baptist Church, Hurricane Harvey, and more.
“I want to thank KSAT for the tremendous opportunities I’ve had here over the years,” Massey wrote. “Reporting on life-altering stories, the immense growth across our community, and everything in between has been an absolute honor. I especially want to thank San Antonio and the entire surrounding community for welcoming me with open arms when I first arrived … As my time at KSAT 12 comes to an end, a new journey begins.”

While he was at KSAT, Massey said he’s been attending law school. He plans to graduate this May and take the bar exam in July, leaving him to begin a new chapter in his professional journey. In the post, Massey thanked viewers, his co-anchors, and the entire GMSA Weekend family he works with on-air and behind the scenes.
“Though this drastic change in my life will not be easy, and I’ll miss being a part of the KSAT family, I’m unbelievably grateful for my time here,” Massey wrote. “Thank you all — viewers, coworkers, family and friends — for everything. Here’s to the wonderful memories and new adventures ahead!”
