Lake Conroe closed, San Jacinto River Authority announces

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — The San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA) closed Lake Conroe Sunday afternoon as Beryl churned toward the Texas coast.

As of 2 p.m., the level of Lake Conroe was 200.23 feet mean sea level (msl) with no outflows, SJRA said. Water outflows occur when the lake level exceeds 201 feet above msl.

The closure at 2 p.m. is to protect the safety of boaters and first responders.

SJRA also activated 24-hour protocols and will remain activated throughout the weather event.
