SAN ANTONIO — A landscaper lost his life Monday morning in a freak accident involving a lawnmower while he was on the Northwest Vista College Campus.
A spokesperson for Alamo Colleges told us the emergency call came in to dispatch at 9:30 a.m. when a bystander called 911.
The San Antonio Fire Department confirmed the man was crushed by the lawnmower. Alamo Colleges said it was a commercial lawnmower that you ride on, which is different from a residential one.
The school says the worker has been employed at the campus for a long period of time.
San Antonio Police will be leading the investigation.
The spokesperson for the campus said this is tragic and that every faculty member contributes to the campus and their thoughts are with the man’s family.
