Landscaping worker in critical condition after being shot multiple times

“We’re not sure why someone would just walk up and shoot some guy that was just doing his job out here,” said a spokesman for SAPD.

SAN ANTONIO — A man working at an apartment complex was shot multiple times Wednesday morning on the west side of town, according to police.

San Antonio Police officers responded to the 6300 block of Highway 90 at Westfield around 10:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting in progress.

Arriving officers found the victim in the parking lot, a man in his early to mid 30s, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.

Officials say the man is a landscaping worker at the apartments. Police do not have any information on what may have caused the man to be shot.

Police were given a generic description of the suspect and have one person detained, but are not yet sure if they were involved. SAPD is still speaking with witnesses to gather more information.

“We’re not sure why someone would just walk up and shoot some guy that was just doing his job out here,” said a spokesman for SAPD.

This is a developing story.
