Law firm admits error in releasing Robb shooting documents. Now Uvalde CISD is getting ready to release more.

An attorney for the district said at Monday’s Uvalde CISD board meeting that his law firm only released a sample of the documents that was sent to the Texas attorney general for review. The representative of the firm said they were “not trying to hide anything,” saying it was “truly an error” on their side.

More than 8,600 emails and 26,000 pages of documents will be released by next Wednesday.

The attorney said no video from hallway cameras will be released because that is being held by Texas DPS. The agency is currently involved in its own litigation over the release.

The Uvalde CISD board voted to release the additional records from the deadly school shooting unanimously.

CNN had reported last week that key emails had not yet been released relating to the May 2022 shooting that left 19 students and two teachers dead at Robb Elementary School. Those included an apparent email from Robb’s then-principal, sent months before the tragedy, in which he notified district officials that classroom doors were not or could not be locked.

A judge had ordered the release of school records related to the shooting in July. They ultimately were shared with the public on Aug. 12, shedding additional light into the delayed law enforcement response to neutralize the gunman, who was in the school for 77 minutes.
