The facility temporarily closed due to flooding issues, affecting over 3,000 appointments. Rescheduling options are available online.
SAN ANTONIO — The Leon Valley Mega Center driver license office is temporarily closed after water pipe leaks caused flooding inside the building, the Texas Department of Public Safety said Monday.
Officials said customers who had scheduled appointments are reportedly being notified of the issue through the DPS Driver License appointment system via ADHOC. The message that was sent Monday morning stated, “Due to severe building issues, this location is closed. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please reschedule online.”
According to a statement from Texas DPS, customers are expected to receive the following notification: “Due to building issues, this office will be temporarily closed. There is no estimated time to reopen. Please email @dps.texas.gov for rescheduling.” Organizers said the email address is designated for individuals with cancelled appointments. DPS has notified over 3,000 customers whose appointments are affected this week. Customers can also reschedule their appointment using this link.
Officials said the building is a leased facility and the owner has been notified of the problem and is in the process of completing the repairs but a reopening date was not provided. The location serves an average of 600-7000 people per day and appointment are usually scheduled six months in advance.
Texas DPS released the following statement:
“DPS leadership is working closely with the building owner to have the repairs completed as quickly as possible. We understand this situation has disrupted plans for many customers, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. DPS remains committed to keeping the public informed and assisting customers as they reschedule their appointments.”
