Let’s go bowling! Donate blood, save lives and show pride for your college team

SAN ANTONIO — Let’s go bowling! As college football bowl season kicks off, South Texas Blood & Tissue is calling on fans across the Alamo City to turn their team pride into something even bigger than bragging rights: lifesaving blood donations.

Whether you’re rocking maroon, burnt orange, or navy and orange, donors can score an exclusive college-themed T-shirt by redeeming points in the South Texas Blood & Tissue Donor Store. It’s a limited-time way for fans to represent their favorite team while helping patients in need.

This season’s shirts let donors wear their loyalty loud and proud, including “I Bleed Maroon” for Texas A&M Aggies, “I Bleed Burnt Orange” for UT Longhorn fans, and “Come and Give It” for UTSA Roadrunners. Every donation made at a South Texas Blood & Tissue donor center earns points that can be redeemed online for the shirt of choice, while supplies last. Donor Store access and T-shirt redemption are available to all eligible donors.

The timing couldn’t be more important. During the winter and holiday months, blood donations typically drop, even as hospital demand remains steady. A single donation can help save multiple lives, making every donor a true MVP this season.

So whether you’re shouting “Gig ’Em,” “Hook ’Em,” or “Birds Up,” this is a chance to rally fellow alumni, channel a little friendly rivalry, and turn school spirit into lifesaving action.

To get involved, schedule a blood donation by calling 210-731-5590 or visiting SouthTexasBlood.org/Give

Because this bowl season, the biggest win happens off the field.
