Let’s Rodeo, San Antonio! Here’s what to expect at this year’s Stock Show & Rodeo

The rodeo event has raised more than $255 million in scholarships for Texas students. Every ticket, turkey leg and funnel cake help fund education.

SAN ANTONIO — Dust off your cowboy hats and get ready for 18 days of rodeo action, mouthwatering food and family fun because the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is back!

From bull riding and swine racing to live music and mutton busting—where fearless kids hold on tight as they ride sheep across the arena—there’s no shortage of excitement. Families can also enjoy the petting zoo, where little ones can feed baby goats and other farm animals.

Over the past 76 years, the rodeo event has raised more than $255 million in scholarships for Texas students. Every ticket, turkey leg and funnel cake help fund education.

Taylor Morgenroth who’s been part of the event by raising turkey says she’s grateful to start college next year with a $10,000 scholarship.

If you’re looking to catch Keith Urban’s performance this Saturday, KENS 5 is giving away two free tickets to the rodeo. All you have to do is download the KENS 5 app and register to win.

Of course, no rodeo experience is complete without the food. This year’s menu is packed with fan favorites like turkey legs, blooming onions, fajitas, and fried PB&Js. One of the biggest hits? The Hot Cheetos corn dog, and according to vendors, there’s also a secret potato version that isn’t on the menu but still draws plenty of requests. And don’t worry—calories don’t count at the rodeo!

None of this would be possible without the 6,000 volunteers who dedicate their time to making the event a success. Whether you’re here for the bull riding, the concerts, or for the fried everything, one thing’s for sure—it’s time to rodeo, San Antonio!
