
Firefighters stopped the blaze before it spread further, and one resident escaped safely.
SAN ANTONIO — A possible lightning strike may be to blame for an early morning house fire on San Antonio’s northwest side.
According to the San Antonio Fire Department, crews were called around 1:55 a.m. to the 11100 block of Rindle Ranch for a reported structure fire.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from the roof near the chimney area.
Crews quickly made entry into the home and knocked down the fire before it could spread further.
Officials say one resident was able to get out safely before crews arrived.
No injuries were reported.
A battalion chief at the scene said the fire may have been caused by a lightning strike. The home suffered moderate damage.
The investigation remains ongoing.
