MARION, Texas — A line worker in Marion, Texas, is dead after working an electrical line Thursday, emergency crews say.
Rescue crews responded in the afternoon to a report of an injured line worker near Wetz Street in Marion, according to a Facebook post from Guadalupe County Emergency Management and Fire Marshal page.
When they arrived on scene, crews determined that the person required a technical rescue. CPS Energy also responded to the scene and provided support in securing the electrical hazards in the area for the safety of all involved.
The agency said a male worker was found to have “sustained fatal injuries after an apparent electrocution,” while working about 175 feet from the ground. Rescue crews had to be careful in recovering the victim due to the high voltage nature of the situation.
The victim has not yet been identified pending notification of next of kin.
