Local pub brings the luck of the Irish to San Antonio with St. Patrick’s Day celebration

The Cottage Pub celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with Irish music, dancers and food.

SAN ANTONIO — The Cottage Pub brought a taste of Ireland to San Antonio with a full day of St. Patrick’s Day festivities on Monday complete with live music, Irish dancers and plenty of traditional food and drinks.

The event promised a lively celebration for all ages.

From bagpipes to cornhole, the event offered a mix of entertainment and activities. Families enjoyed face painting, outdoor games and a menu featuring Irish classics like fish and chips.

“We’re here to celebrate Saint Patty’s Day. Come on out and bring your family,” said Jennifer from The Cottage. “We’re going to have Irish dancers, bagpipes, face painting for the children. We have cornhole, Jenga and we’ll be serving fish and chips outside as well. So please come out to celebrate!”

Even visitors from out of town got in on the fun.

“We’re visiting from out of town and for Spring Break, I figured, go somewhere warmer… We are from Wisconsin. We’re ready for the warm weather,” said one tourist.

The entertainment lineup is packed, featuring live performances all day, followed by a grand finale with the San Antonio Pipes and Drums.

“Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone! Come join us over here at The Cottage Pub off Broadway,” Jennifer added. “Music and entertainment starts around 4 p.m. We do have face painting for the kiddos and tons of Irish whiskeys and beers. Wear your green!”
