SAN ANTONIO — Bexar County residents can visit the San Antonio Zoo at a discounted price as part of the zoo’s ongoing Locals Day series.
The zoo said Locals Day will take place Thursday, March 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with admission tickets priced at $8 for county residents who show proof of residency.
According to zoo officials, the event highlights Precinct 1, though all Bexar County residents are eligible to participate in any Locals Day offered throughout the year.
Zoo officials said guests can explore animal habitats, see wildlife from around the world and enjoy family-friendly activities during the event. Admission also includes access to Congo Falls, the zoo’s two-acre gorilla habitat that recently marked the return of gorillas to San Antonio after more than 35 years.
Residents can also enjoy the exhibit Pollinators, an interactive exhibit in the Go Wild realm featuring 12 larger-than-life, climbable sculptures inspired by species that help keep ecosystems thriving. That will be at the zoo until April 26.
San Antonio Zoo officials said Locals Day tickets are only valid on select dates and must be purchased by Bexar County residents. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the website here.
