SAN ANTONIO — In the wake of destruction, hope is showing up in the form of volunteers. From clearing debris to handing out supplies, everyday people are making a big difference.
On Saturday, hundreds of local volunteers touched by the tragic flooding in the Hill Country donated their time to help with recovery efforts.
They packed several thousand buckets full of cleaning supplies in collaboration with Convoy of Hope, a faith-based organization that helps disaster recovery globally.
“Cleaning supplies are a big priority right now as people are trying to return to their homes,” said Lauren Donaldson, Public Engagement Specialist for Convoy of Hope. “We know that it’s difficult to go back to a home that is already upended, so this is really helping and we’re helping them recover. These will be delivered, over the next few weeks, months, over time they will go out, and these will be going to some of the survivors that were impacted.”
The buckets will be delivered to not just the Hill Country, but also San Angelo and San Saba which were also impacted by the floods.
