Looking like a winner: Josh Allen doppelgangers gather for friendly contest

The event featured food, vendors, prizes, and a photo booth where you could sign Josh and Hailee’s wedding book.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Western New York can’t get enough of Josh Allen.

There’s the wins as the Buffalo Bills prepare for another run at the Super Bowl, sure. But there’s also the engagement to Hailee Steinfeld, their Q&A that soon followed, and the MVP-worthy numbers that quickly followed once the Bills returned from their bye week.

So it only seemed natural that, with all the buzz about Allen, someone held a look-alike contest. In this case, it was Buffalo RiverWorks on Saturday night. The event was held from 6 to 10 p.m.

The free, all-ages event featured food, vendors, prizes, and a photo booth where you could sign Josh and Hailee’s wedding book.

We asked some of the contestants what it takes to channel the energy of Buffalo’s most beloved quarterback, including the big winner.

“Josh is the epitome of the Bills. Go Bills! He’s just a good person, and we’re going to win the Super Bowl,” Zachery Bochacki told 2 On Your Side after his victory.

Reginald Swygert, who took second place, added: “Josh Allen is like one of those guys that are from South Buffalo, right? I feel like he’s one of us, and he’s grown into that, and he plays for us.”

Another Allen doppelganger, Frankie Villa, told 2 On Your Side: “It’s truly a blessing just for people to come up to me all the time and say, ‘Hey, is that the guy?’ You know, stop asking me for pictures.”
