SAN ANTONIO — A lost ring turned up in Kerrville, Texas sparking an unexpected journey 2,000 miles home to its rightful owner.
Tuesday morning, the City of Kerrville posted on Facebook about how two Public Works employees came upon the ring during a routine day.
According to the post, Morgan Vollmar and Marcus Mader recovered a 1990 Kansas State University class ring while inspecting the city’s wastewater collection system. After some personal investigating and sleuthing Assistant Wastewater Collections Superintendent Louis Fender found out the ring belonged to KSU alumni Randy Fox, now a Washington state resident. Fox had apparently lived and worked in Kerrville in the mid-1990s and lost the ring in 1996.
The post states the ring was returned to Fox, who expressed his appreciation in a call to Fender.
The City of Kerrville thanked Morgan, Marcus and Louis for their help in getting the ring back to Fox.
