SAN ANTONIO — Something old, something new, something borrowed…and a block party!
Only in San Antonio do hundreds of newlyweds turn Main Plaza into one giant wedding reception.
On Friday, Feb. 13, the Newlywed Block Party kicks off at 8 p.m., honoring the hundreds of couples set to be married during the city’s midnight wedding ceremony at the Historic Bexar County Courthouse.
Bexar County Clerk Hon. Lucy Adame-Clark will officiate what’s known as the city’s biggest wedding of the year on the courthouse steps. Couples must obtain a marriage license at least 72 hours before the ceremony unless one applicant is active-duty military or a judge grants a waiver.
The celebration will feature a DJ spinning popular hits, a Valentine’s Day market, raffles and more. Dancing begins at 10 p.m.
