LUMBERTON, Texas — A 4-year-old Southeast Texas boy is competing for the national Hasbro “Toddler of the Year” title, which comes with a $25,000 prize, a trip to the Peppa Pig Theme Park and the opportunity to lead the Hollywood Christmas Parade.
Archer Odom, of Lumberton, has entered the competition that celebrates children who bring joy and spirit into the world.
His mother, Destiny Odom, describes her son as exceptionally caring and well-mannered with an infectious personality.
“My 4-year-old is truly the sweetest little boy I know. He wears his heart on his sleeve, always so caring and thoughtful. He never forgets his manners, always saying ‘thank you’ and ‘you’re welcome,’ and if someone isn’t feeling well, he’s the first to check in on them,” she said.
Archer enjoys riding his dirt bike and playing with his collection of nearly 300 Disney Cars toys inspired by the Lightning McQueen character. When not engaged in these activities, he spends time with his best friend Johnny or plays with his cousin Colt at his aunt’s house.
According to his mother, Archer rarely displays anything but happiness and possesses remarkable empathy for his age. She said he consistently offers hugs and apologies when someone’s feelings are hurt and maintains an active imagination.

“He has such a joyful spirit, always smiling, always happy. There’s never a dull moment when he’s around. He lights up any room he walks into, and his laugh? It’s absolutely contagious. I’m so proud to be his mom.” Odom said.
The family said the $25,000 prize would help pay off debt and allow them to purchase land where their children could grow up in a rural setting.
Supporters can vote for Archer daily at the Toddler of the Year website. Each person can cast one free vote per day. Additional votes can be purchased through donations that benefit the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
