Jay Tope won his first appearance on Tuesday, earning him a spot in the final on Friday to play alongside celebrity guest Jason Derulo.
SAN ANTONIO — Lytle High School teacher Jay Tope has won iHeartRadio Week on Wheel of Fortune.
Since 1982, Tope has been a big Wheel of Fortune fan. Now, he can say he’s won his turn on the show!
.It was iHeartRadio Week and Tope won his first appearance on Tuesday, earning him a spot in the final on Friday to play alongside celebrity guest Jason Derulo.
It was a tight race heading into the “Final Spin” when he solved the puzzle “Performing a Duet” to take the lead and advance to the Bonus Round.
Tope and Derulo chose the topic, “What are you doing?” which Tope went on to give the correct answer of “Moving Forward.”
The answer added $40,000 to his grand prize, which ended up totaling out to $69,350! Tope also won a trip the iHeartRadio Awards in Los Angeles.
