Magik Theatre brings ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ to the stage for the holidays

The production runs through December 24.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio families are invited to join in the holiday spirit at the Magik Theatre starting November 22 as it kicks off its heartwarming stage adaptation of “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

The production runs through December 24. Tickets are available now. It’s $30 for adults and $25 for military, seniors and children over two.

The production stays true to the beloved television classic, following Charlie Brown as he searches for the true meaning of Christmas. Despite the lights, decorations, and festive cheer all around him, Charlie feels something is missing. With guidance from Lucy, Linus, Snoopy, and the rest of the Peanuts gang, he takes on directing the school Christmas play in hopes of discovering the reason for the season.

Featuring the iconic original score by Vince Guaraldi, Charles M. Schulz’s gentle humor, and a timeless message about love and community, the show promises to delight adults revisiting a childhood favorite and kids meeting the Peanuts gang for the first time.

“A Charlie Brown Christmas is a classic from my childhood,” says director Angie Hernandez, Magik’s Artistic Projects Manager. “I’m excited to see families connecting, meeting Charlie Brown and friends, and creating a new holiday tradition that spans generations.”

The cast includes Ernesto Dominguez as Charlie Brown, Lucero Garcia as Snoopy, and Clarissa Ramos as Lucy, who all balance cartoonish charm with real-life emotion, delivering a tender story of empathy along with a few holiday surprises.

Young performers and music lovers are encouraged to visit the Magik Theatre’s special sing-along matinee on December 13, which will feature extra carols and a sweet treat for the audience.

The production is sponsored by Whataburger and Valero. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” will also be the last production in Beethoven Hall before the Magik Theatre temporarily closes in January 2026 for a months-long renovation project.
