
Magik Theatre will debut a reimagined Red Riding Hood with a twist this Saturday.
SAN ANTONIO — Magik Theatre is planning to bring a beloved children’s classic to life on stage this Fall season.
The theater will debut Red Riding Hood on Saturday. This version of the classic adds a bit of twist, making the girl a fiesty delivery driver and the scariest thing about the Wolf is his ego.
This retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood includes the wolf’s plan to perform his one-man version of the fairytaile, until the delivery driver with a mysterious package gives her own opinions on the story. The performance will help teach kids a lesson of seeing things through other people’s eyes and celebrates courage, bravery and the strength that comes from working together.
“The actors are not just playing roles—they’re inventing them with what’s around them, which brings a spontaneity and theatrical wonder that feels true to the spirit of Magik,” says director Devon Moreno.
The performance is recommended for family audiences ages 5 and up and there will be some special shows on offer. Take a look at the list below:

- Pay What You Wish Performance | Saturday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m.
- American Sign Language Interpreted Performance | Saturday, Oct. 5, at 3 p.m.
- Military Appreciation Day – $25 tickets | Sat. Oct. 11 at 2 p.m.
