Magnolia Pancake Haus founder passes away suddenly, restaurant announces

“Thank you, Mr. Pancake, for everything,” the Facebook post that announced Robert Fleming Jr.’s passing said.

SAN ANTONIO — The beloved owner of Magnolia Pancake Haus has passed away, according to a Facebook post.

The post announced that professional chef Robert Fleming Jr., known as Mr. Pancake, died suddenly. 

“It is with a heavy heart and soul that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved founder, Robert Fleming Jr,” the post says.

Robert and Sheila Fleming opened Magnolia Pancake House in 2000, expanding in 2006, according to their website.

The second location opened in 2012, and a third restaurant was opened in 2020 in Cibolo. In 2023, the original location moved from Embassy Oaks to a bigger facility down 281 five minutes away.

“Robert was more than the heart behind Magnolia Pancake Haus,” the post goes on to say. “He was a visionary, a mentor, a friend, and a man whose passion for hospitality brought joy to countless lives. From our very first stack of pancakes to every warm smile shared across our tables, his legacy lives on in every corner of our Haus.”

“Thank you, Mr. Pancake, for everything.”
