SAN ANTONIO — A man has been arrested for making threats towards a San Antonio church, according to court documents.
According to jail records, 35-year-old Samuel Alvarez is facing a terroristic threat charge.
At around 7 p.m. on Thursday, police say Alvarez called the Xtreme Harvest Church’s main number, leaving a voicemail message accusing the church of allowing adultery. He threatened to “put rounds through the windows,” according to an arrest affidavit.
At 7:45 p.m., witnesses saw Alvarez driving a silver truck recklessly in the church’s parking lot. Witnesses say he tampered with audio/visual equipment inside the church, “yanking wires,” causing a screen to go black during an ongoing event.
A witness also recorded video of Alvarez leaving the scene in the truck.
The affidavit says the church was afraid that Alvarez would return and complete his threat of “putting rounds through the windows,” causing them to increase security personnel by requesting police presence during service hours.
Jail records show he was arrested on Saturday.
