Man accused of sexually assaulting 12-year-old girl he met in a chatroom, officials say

Officials say Alejandro Garza, 21, was talking to the girl through a chatroom called Chat IB. They eventually agreed to meet.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A man has been accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl he met in a chatroom, officials say.

He was arrested after someone called the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office about a suspicious vehicle parked in a dead end around Marbach and Wentwood around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The vehicle the suspect and child were in was parked down the road. When Bexar County deputies went to investigate the suspicious vehicle, that’s when they say they saw two individuals inside “engaging in illegal activity.”

Alejandro Garza, 21, was also seen getting rid of evidence with the 12-year-old girl in his passenger seat.

Officials say Garza was talking to the 12-year-old through a chatroom called Chat IB. They eventually agreed to meet.

Garza is being charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. His bond is set at $100,000.
