Man and woman arrested in shooting deaths of two people at area hookah lounge, SAPD says

A man and a woman face capital murder charges after a deadly shooting at Myst Hookah Lounge, stemming from an argument that escalated, leaving two dead.

SAN ANTONIO — A man and a woman have been arrested in the shooting and killing of two people at a local hookah lounge early Wednesday, police said. 

Officers responded to a shooting around 1:24 a.m. at Myst Hookah Lounge in the 4500 block of North Loop 1604 West Wednesday. Police say it began with an argument and a man was removed from the bar. A short time later, police said a person matching that description drove by the location and fired multiple shots toward the patio, killing two people, 27-year-old Derek Deshaun Brown and a 50-year-old man who has not yet been identified. 

Friday morning, SAPD posted on Facebook that 34-year-old Joseph Anthony Amador and 35-year-old Lauren Taylor Machado-Juarez are charged with capital murder in the case.
