
San Antonio police detained a man Tuesday after he injured an officer during a south side disturbance. The suspect faces multiple charges as the probe continues.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police arrested a man Tuesday evening following a violent disturbance on the city’s south side that left a police officer injured.
Officers were called to the 5300 block of Roosevelt Avenue just before 6 p.m. after reports that a man was harassing women outside a local business. When an officer arrived and tried to make contact with the suspect, he reportedly struck her with a closed fist and fled the scene.
The officer pursued the suspect, deploying her taser to make the arrest. Police say the suspect bit and scratched the officer multiple times while she was trying to arrest him. She was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries
The suspect was taken into custody and faces multiple charges.
The case remains under investigation, and authorities say details may change as the investigation continues.
