SAN ANTONIO – A 56-year-old man is in custody after stabbing his father and leading a standoff on the city’s West Side, according to San Antonio police.
SAPD responded to a cutting in progress around 10:40 a.m. in the 7000 block of Shady Grove Drive.
Upon arrival, officers found an 82-year-old man with multiple stab wounds on the street alongside neighbors.
Police said his son had stabbed him and barricaded himself inside a home.
Officers then surrounded the home, and he peacefully surrendered.
SAPD says the father was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
