SAN ANTONIO — A woman was taken to the hospital after being stabbed during a family disturbance Saturday afternoon on San Antonio’s northeast side, according to police.
Officers were called to the 14000 block of Nacogdoches Road around 12:07 p.m. for a reported disturbance involving a knife.
When officers arrived, they found a 57-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds across her body. She was able to provide officers with a description of the suspect, police said.
Investigators said the suspect, a 26-year-old man, fled the scene on foot before officers arrived. With help from SAPD’s EAGLE helicopter unit, officers searched the area and located the suspect nearby, hiding in a ditch.
He was taken into custody without incident.
The woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her condition has not been released.
Police say it’s still unclear what led up to the stabbing, and the investigation remains ongoing.
