SAN ANTONIO — A man is arrested after he allegedly left a young boy at a busy intersection on the southeast side last week, according to an affidavit.
The incident occurred on the 4000 block of Paula on July 2 after officers were called for a welfare check about a young boy seen running up and down a busy street, affidavit says.
A witness told officers that the young boy was running in a busy intersection with no shoes or shirt on.
The young child told an officer that his father, 37-year-old, Christopher Martin had dropped him off and left. When Martin was reached over the phone he said the young boy was dropped off with a person named Kelly but failed to provide any identifying information, according to the affidavit. Martin hung up the phone and then became unavailable.
The young boy’s mother who lives in another state was contacted and said she didn’t know anyone named Kelly and Martin was responsible for the boy, according to the affidavit.
A warrant was issued for Martin’s arrest on July 2. He was arrested Tuesday and charged with abandoning or endangering a child.
