
The suspect has been identified as 34-year-old Mark Reyes. He is facing a charge of assault on a pregnant person, possession of narcotics and criminal mischief.
SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police Department says a man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend before leaving with her kids.
Around 5 p.m., SAPD responded to the 2300 block of Castroville Road after receiving reports of an assault in progress.
Upon arrival, police found a pregnant woman, 35, bleeding from her nose. She told officers that her boyfriend threw a can or bottle at her before while they were at the west-side Family Dollar after an argument about who was going to drive the car.
The suspect also then damaged the victim’s car in his anger.
After the assault, the suspect reportedly took her two kids with him. Police said only one of the kids he brought with him was also his child.
Authorities quickly found the suspect and arrested him. They also found PG 2 narcotics on him.
