Man arrested in illegal drug bust leading to seizure of meth, heroin identified

Authorities seized 15 kg of meth and 5 kg of heroin in east Bexar County drug bust, arresting a suspect linked to organized crime.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — Authorities have identified the suspect arrested in a Bexar County drug bust where several kilograms of illegal drugs were found at a home during the execution of a search warrant on the east side.

The suspect has been identified as Enrique Talamantes Segura.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said the Organized Crime Unit began investigating the operation in the 1500 block of Gorman, which is near the intersection of Houston Street and North Walters Street.

Sheriff Salazar said officers found 15 kilograms worth of meth and 5 kilograms worth of heroin. Additionally, investigators believe the drugs were being mixed using a concrete mixture and distributed into the community. Sheriff Salazar says this poses a huge danger.

“We’re still trying to figure out why why they were mixing these two and how much of this has gotten out into the community. Either of these drugs is more than capable of causing a death,” Salazar said. “You start mixing them up and then and really bad things are going to happen.”

Several guns were also found at the location, BCSO said.

Salazar said Segura is an undocumented immigrant that has been on the “federal radar for some time.”

Sheriff Salazar says that anyone with information should reach out to investigators via email at gang@bexar.org or call 210-335-GANG.
