SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Police arrested a man they say is responsible for killing three people and injuring another in a hit and run car crash that happened last year on the southside.
Pablo Tagle, Junior, 46, was arrested on Sunday and faces four charges for collision involving death and serious injury.
Police say the crash happened on November 23 when Tagle was going down Roosevelt Avenue and crashed into the back of Juan Salas’ car.
Salas had his daughters, Leslie and Yareli Salas Dominguez in the car with him and they crashed into Claudia Maltos’ car, who was going in the opposite direction.
Juan, Leslie, and Yareli were all pronounced dead at the scene. Juan was 61 years old, Yareli was 22 years old, and Leslie was 25 years old.
We’ve also learned a fourth victim involved in the crash was injured, and survived. The report shows they suffered multiple serious injuries including a fractured spine, sternum and knee.
Tagle ran away from the crash on foot without giving aid or calling emergency services, according to the arrest paperwork.
It also mentioned how he tried to report his vehicle was stolen and left at the crash scene. Police say they were told Tagle was asleep when his car was taken, but took Tagle’s cell phone data to tie him to the crash.
Tagle is now on full house arrest with a $125,000 bond.
His pre-indictment hearing is at the end of May.
