Man critically hurt in shooting, crash at Rigsby and Clark, police say

A 20-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting and crash near Rigsby Avenue and Clark Avenue Saturday night, police say.

SAN ANTONIO — A 20-year-old man was left with life-threatening injuries Saturday night after a shooting that ended in a crash near the east side, San Antonio police said.

Officers were called to the intersection of Rigsby Avenue and Clark Avenue just after 8:15 p.m. Saturday for a report of a shooting in progress.

When officers arrived, they found a vehicle had crashed into a concrete embankment. The driver, a 20-year-old man, had an apparent gunshot wound and injuries from the crash. According to police, he was later transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The passenger, whose identity has not been released, fled the scene initially but was found nearby with injuries related to the crash and also taken for medical treatment.

It remains unclear what led up to the shooting or the collision, and police have not made any arrests. The investigation is ongoing.
