Man cut during robbery attempt near Broadway, police say

Investigators say two suspects chased the victim across the street before taking his bags.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was injured during a robbery and assault early Monday morning near Broadway in San Antonio.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 1:29 a.m. to 3100 block of Broadway near East Mulberry Street for a reported cutting.

Police say a man in his 40s was being chased from the parking lot of Finck’s Cigar Company across the street to the Whataburger parking lot by two men armed with knives.

Investigators say the suspects fought with the victim and took his bags.

The victim then ran back across the street in an attempt to get his belongings back and was cut on the hand and face.

EMS treated the man at the scene.

Police say both suspects were detained, and the investigation remains ongoing.
