Man dead after drive-by shooting outside SA restaurant

Police are still looking for suspects in Tuesday’s drive-by shooting near Alamo Ranch.

SAN ANTONIO — A man shot outside a San Antonio restaurant in what police believe was a targeted attack has died from his injuries.

The unidentified victim was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon when authorities responded to the 5700 block of West Loop 1604 North for reports of a shooting. Law enforcement at the scene said the man was struck in a drive-by shooting while trying to enter his vehicle after dining at a nearby eatery shortly after 3 p.m.

“The vehicle fled right after the shooting,” an SAPD sergeant at the scene said, adding the victim was shot multiple times. “There’s no evidence of any kind of disturbance inside before this happened.”

The man was with family, police added, but no one else was injured.

It’s unknown exactly how many suspects might be involved, but police have yet to announce any arrests as they continue to investigate the incident. They estimated the victim was 29 years old.
