A crash early Monday killed one person and sent another to the hospital with serious injuries, police say.
The crash happened when two pickup trucks collided on Old Highway 90 near Nelson Wolff stadium around 2 a.m. Monday.
Police told us that the surviving driver could now be facing an intoxication manslaughter charge after the two pick-up trucks collided head on.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man in a woman in one of those vehicles. The man driving was pronounced dead at the scene and their passenger was rushed to University Hospital with serious injuries. The man’s identity has not yet been released.
The driver of the other pickup was taken into custody by police on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Police tell us that man could be facing charged with intoxication manslaughter, pending testing.
