Michael John Muhlenbruch, 19, is alleged to have punched a 17-year-old student in the face and pointed a gun at him stating, “I’m going to kill you.”
SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BSCO) said in a Facebook post that a man is facing multiple charges after allegedly pointing a gun at a student near Sonia Sotomayor High School which ultimately led investigators to a large drug and illegal gun bust at a West Bexar County home.
On Tuesday, BCSO said it was notified of an assault that occurred near the campus. Deputies said a male suspect operating an Orange Ford Mustang reportedly questioned students if they knew the name of a student who attends the high school.
The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Michael John Muhlenbruch is alleged to have then punched the student in the face. Following the assault, Muhlenbruch could be seen on video reaching inside the Mustang, grabbing a rifle and stating “I’m going to kill you.”
Muhlenbruch left the location before deputies arrived.
Due to the circumstances of the incident, BCSO said investigators determined it met the requirements for unlawfully carrying a weapon in prohibited places since it occurred within proximity to a school.
Investigators issued an arrest warrant for Muhlenbruch in the 10000 block of Oak Saddle in West Bexar County. When deputies entered the home, they found several rifles.
Following Muhlenbruch’s arrest, deputies found a large amount of narcotics and illegal weapons inside the home including multiple rifles, one semi-automatic pistol converted into fully automatic with an illegal switch, high capacity magazines, body armor and large amounts of ammunition along with THC edibles and oils, methamphetamine and heroin.
Michael John Muhlenbruch was transported to the Bexar County Jail and booked on multiple charges with bonds totaling $133,000.
A spokesperson for NISD confirmed the incident took place off campus after school and that the suspect is not currently and has not been a student at Sotomayor.
