One of the people from inside the house party went outside as vehicle with an unknown amount of people inside drove up to the home. A suspect or suspects from inside that vehicle fired off multiple rounds, hitting the victim who died on the driveway across the street from the party.

Witnesses told officers that they heard between 10-15 gunshots, went outside and found their friend, and then ran back inside the house. The suspects drove off following the shooting. No description was available for either the car or the suspects in it.

The victim, a man in his early 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

When SAPD and SWAT arrived, they did not know if the people inside the home were possible suspects or just witnesses. Police belive they might have been frightened by the shooting, but were not sure why they went back inside the home. After about two more hours, about 10-15 people came out of the home and were detained by police for questioning.

All of the guests at the party that were detained are cooperating with police.

Police say the incident was an isolated one and the neighborhood is safe.

This is a developing story.
