SAN ANTONIO — A 14-year-old girl accused of fatally stabbing her stepfather, identified as Ray Hardy, was in court today.
Around 6:15 p.m. Monday, SAPD responded to the 300 block of Stutts Drive after receiving reports of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers found a 14-year-old girl and detained her. They then located Hardy, her stepfather, in the back of the property.
EMS and officers said they did what they could to save him, but he died on the scene.
The teen appeared in court Tuesday morning. With no parent or guardian to release her to, the 14-year-old has been detained – her next detention hearing will be Jan. 15.
KENS 5 spoke with a neighbor who says the neighborhood normally feels safe.
“It’s just shocking that that happened,” they said. “I just can’t believe he is the victim.”
SAPD says the investigation is ongoing.
